BMR Subframe Connectors
by Jordon Musser

Overview
Although the stock F-body is decently stiff, the shock of strip launches can bend the unibody.  A stiffer chassis is also very noticeable on the street, as the car will react faster to your inputs. The most popular way to stiffen a F-body car is to add subframe connectors. There are many manufactures that make them, and after looking around I decided to go with BMR Sub Frames because of the NO BEND boxed construction.  They are available direct from BMR for $125.

Installation
Although the installation is fairly straight forward, I ran into some problems because I believe that my car was slightly tweaked to begin with. I had to remove some material with a grinder to make the passenger side to fit properly, however everything else went smoothly. Just follow the supplied directions. I bolted mine on, then had them welded.

On the Street
Although the sub frames did not affect street driving very much, they did make the car feel a little more rough over bumps, because the chassis does not flex as much.

At the Track
Strip: Because of my lack of horsepower, I did not notice a difference in 60ft times.. but the car won't flex any more during launch.. should help keep the car straight.

AutoX:  The car felt much stiffer during S turns on the track. The car seemed to respond faster to steering/throttle inputs.

Conclusion
I highly recommend this mod, as it makes the car more rigid, and should help prevent a tweaked chassis down the road. Give BMR a call, you won't be disappointed!!
